Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Jan 07 2024

This is a perfect album to start this journey with, I'm already familiar with Simon and Garfunkel as my parents are both fans of them. Also it's a pretty easy listen, this wasn't in a drastically out there genre for me, and I feel like anyone could listen through this thing with not much difficulty. Of course I knew the song bridge over troubled water, the boxer I've heard quite a few times and my dad knows the entire story behind it. I really like the song baby driver, I didn't know about that one before but I had a moment of being like "ohh that's why Edgar Wright named his movie that" Overall this is still a great album. I'll have to talk to my mom at some point about the time she had to research and listen to this album and interpret it for some kind of course she was taking.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jan 08 2024

There's a lot to like here, I just can't bring myself to care, I've never been able to get into Led Zeppelin, despite how much people worship them.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jan 11 2024

An interesting combination of genres, 50's rock and roll updated with new wave, power pop, and I guess technically punk. This is a solid collection of simple sounding yet catchy songs in this style. It's exactly what I wanted it to be when I put it on and it doesn't overstay it's welcome. Elvis Costello isn't for everyone, but the whole thing is only 36 minutes, so what you do have to lose?

Apr 20 2024

Pretty good, probably three and a half stars. I wasn't fully in the mood for it but it was a nice chill listen. It didn't wow me but I really have nothing to complain about. I'm already familiar with REM, and I'm pretty sure I've heard this album before. Man on the moon and Night swimming are favorites here, both songs already have personal meaning to me.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
May 03 2024

I used to be a big Alice Cooper fan, I already know and already like this album.

Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair
May 25 2024

I liked it. I was expecting it to have a harder rock sound based on the album cover. It's certainly still rock though. I think I may need to give it a re-listen at some point, I wasn't really paying as much attention to the lyrics as I could've.
