The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jan 13 2024

It is a masterpiece of intimate and emotional music. This album, inspired by the breakups that the singer suffered, moves away from the dark and violent rock of his previous works and focuses on Cave's piano, voice and lyrics, which express his pain, his hope and his faith with heartbreaking honesty. It is a quite emotional album, soft and relaxing, but quite sad. Not recommended for people going through recent breakups.

Marquee Moon by Television
Jan 14 2024

The album is characterized by the complexity and originality of the guitars of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd, which intertwine creating hypnotic and angular sounds. Verlaine's lyrics are also poetic and evocative, influenced by authors such as Rimbaud or Verlaine, from whom he took his stage name. The album was highly praised by critics and is considered one of the best albums in rock history. However, I am not a big fan of 70s punk music, except for some groups and some more well-known and commercial songs. I found the album interesting, but for my tastes, I wouldn't listen to it again and I wouldn't save it to my playlist.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Jan 15 2024

There's no argument: it's Led Zeppelin. The album combines blues, hard rock and folk, with a powerful, raw and experimental sound. Guitarist Jimmy Page shined with his memorable riffs, his virtuoso solos and his technical innovations, such as the use of the theremin or the violin bow. Singer Robert Plant demonstrated his expressive and versatile voice, with lyrics inspired by love, sex and literature. Bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham formed a solid and dynamic rhythmic foundation, which supported the complex song structures. It's one of my favorite groups

At first the album started to sound good, but as it evolved the less I liked it. As I said in the review of the Television album, I'm not a big fan of Punk, which is why I couldn't finish listening to it. However, it cannot be denied that it is very well crafted (if musicalization is concerned).
