1001 Albums Summary

I learned a lot about rock music listening to this album.

I get why this album is important, but other than at dinner parries, Bossa Nova puts me to sleep.

This album was very popular when I was in college. It's not my favorite REM album, but Nightswimming and Everybody Hurts are classics.

A very uneven album. Two classic Bowie songs, "Young Americans" and "Fame." The rest of the album is funk and borderline psychedelic, neither of which did a lot for me.

Holy crap how have I never heard this before? My head exploded. Is it jazz or funk? Afrobeat is what Wikipedia calls it but I'm still wrapping my head around it. Fela's voice blows me away, and Ginger Baker is incredible.
