Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Jan 12 2024

Ragged Wood was a stand out track. Overall the album was a bit one note for my tastes

Jan 16 2024

Glad to see this album included on this list for the culture (*finally!*). NWA are still some of the realest and rawest to ever do it. Deducting a point for some themes not aging gracefully

Achtung Baby by U2
Jan 17 2024

Paaaaain. Mysterious Ways is the only song that showed my ears grace. Everything else was insufferable. Sorry, not sorry.

Jan 18 2024

I miss the old days when rap groups used an abundance of samples and sounds to create a unique flow. However, overall the album was a bit too "long winded" for me...like trying to sit through a 3 hour movie. I realize that's more my problem than the album's...but it is what it is

Parklife by Blur
Jan 19 2024

"Girls & Boys" just happens to be one of my favorite songs *ever* in music history so it was pretty easy to rate the rest of the album which maintains a similar poppy-punky-go lucky cadence (ie Bank Holiday) that feels rare to find nowadays. Somewhat unexpectedly, Blur is bundled up in the innocence and carefreedom of my youth and I appreciate the reminder. (In reality this is a solid 4.8 but limited by the ratings nature of this platform)

Heroes by David Bowie
Jan 22 2024

"Heroes" itself is a 10 star song but the rest of the album doesn't really live up to the same iconic and timeless sound in my opinion. I'm a Bowie lover at heart but of all his work, this is my least favorite compilation.

Jan 23 2024

Isn't funny how some musical elements are timeless and others...are just...not? I was torn with this review because the stars of this album shine just as brightly as when I first heard them in the early 2000s (Love Island and Praise You among them). Yet there are one or two tracks I actively cringed while listening to and hesitantly had to repeat to see if they were worth deducting from the final score. Alas, there's no competing with an album that still manages to take me on a fresh journey, several decades and listens later

The Beach Boys Today! by The Beach Boys
Jan 24 2024

There are a few songs I had trouble connecting with but overall a decent album, good for easy listening. The Beach Boys are iconic in their own right and their story as a group as well as their surreal side adventures (see: Dennis Wilson) make them all the more legendary.
