Good musicians, but it didn't engage me emotionally.
Fantastic!
some good bits, but overall pretty boring.
Very interesting song writing. Really strong solid beginning, starts losing steam half-way.
A classic, good vibes to chillax to. But I just don't find it very exciting. I guess I don't like the repetitive sameness of the genre.
Nice to listen too, but sounds all the same to me.
I have fond memories of this band. Got to know it through my sister when I was a teenager. It was fun reliving all the weird feelings their music made me feel. I'd give it a 4 because of nostalgia, but honestly, this hasn't aged as well as some other bands my sister introduced me too (eg. The Cure, The Pixies). It feels like an unending bizarre soundscape.
Not a big fan of crooning Elvis and the music was quite predictable. Nevertheless, the instrumentation and instrumental performances were solid. Specially enjoyed the (not flashy but effective) organ and bass, the horns not so much. Songs had a sense of purpose and ended before their ideas became boring.
Generic electronic dance music. The call and response between uninspired rapping and female vocals/cheering on What Time is Love and 3AM Eternal got boring pretty fast. This recipe was slightly improved on Last Train to Trancentral with the inclusion of vocoder. Heard some glimpses of The Prodigy in there, so I'm giving it a 2.
Tracks 1 and 3 are insanely good... absolute gold. The rest of the album is quite good. Too romantic for my taste, but vocals and instruments are on point. Bass is fucking fire throughout. Turns out its James Jamerson.
Had some really goods songs, like Who Is It? But it was just too slow and weird in general. Missed some more upbeat songs to break the monotony.
This shit rules! What a ride!
