-love how full the instrumentals are, lots of little instruments, like bells, symbols, and even the vibraslap are used to make tracks feel complete -lyrics are kinda mid, nothing to write home about but certainly not terrible. they just seem to lack the punch that the instrumentals deliver -love the melodies, certainly akin to the Beatles -Gallagher's voice is fine, fits with the tracks for the most part, but his vocals aren't exciting as the background vocals which are mixed and layered well -they love repeating lyrics, especially in track outros, and while i do think its effective in making the songs trancey it can become annoying when listening to the album as a whole. the repetition starts to lose its impact -like the Swamp Song Interludes, i think they fit well on the album -fav tracks: Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back In Anger -least fav track: Some Might Say

-mixes country and folk with R&B, pop, and jazz seamlessly. no point during the album in which i felt like it was "doing too much" -everything on this album feels effortless, Ray Charles's voice is hypnotic and layers beautifully on top of the backing vocals. however, the way the background vocals often echo Charles's can get annoying when listening to the album in full -while the album is cohesive in sound, most of the tracks are able to stand out from each other -the lyrics are incredibly personal, making the experience of listening intimate; which contrasts well with how loud and layered the instruments are on tracks like - Charles's vocals and the band are harmonious, and the string sections on tracks like You Don't Know Me and Your Cheatin' Heart have a charming back and forth with his voice -the album trails off a bit at the end -4/5
