The Queen Is Dead
The SmithsIncredible album, no skips. If only morissey could listen and learn from his own lyrics. Earnest, soaring, painful, glorious. One of the greats.

Listen I get it - these guys do white boy rap funk soul rock better than anyone. At their best they're visionary genre blenders with incredible hooks and driving bass lines that get you moving whether you like it or not. But the goofy ding dong ding dang nonsense really pulls me out if the vibe. The album has some absolute bangers but it's too long, with a few songs feeling like derivative reductions of their other hits. That said you can't deny their groovy, goofy genius and this album is their apex.
Absolute classic. No notes.
