bleggghh. idk maybe if I was on psychedelics and it was a good trip I’d give this a 3 but sober I’m gonna have to give it a solid 1.4 - a chore to get through ~ manifesting a pop album next ~

Disclaimer: this review may be biased bc I literally hated the last couple we got lol Review: I manifested a pop album and we got a [electro] pop album!!!! YAS KWEEN! I seriously enjoyed this album. It was funky, fresh, unique, and FUN. First 75% was a lil more enjoyable for me than the last couple songs. Flutes is DEF my favorite from the bunch (knew it beforehand tho; what can I say, I have great taste). Wish we were scoring between 1-10 so I could give this an 8.5. I guess I’ll just have to do a 4 here. ok bye!!

Miss Carole did that!!! This is just a beautiful album with so many timeless classics. She slayed on that piano and made me feel all the feels. This album deserved all its flowers and then some!

I actually screamed when I saw this was the album of the day, finally some FRIGGIN BOPPPPPSSSS. While I want to give this a 5 (because these women are KWEENS and Destiny’s Child was my SHIIITT back in the day), I have to give it a 3 because it really falls flat for me after the first few songs! Hard to pick a favorite between Independent Woman and Survivor - I know they’re the most popular but they really are the best. I also wanna say I LOOOVEEE the song Dangerously in Love, but the one from Beyoncé’s first solo album, not this one lol (sorry Michelle and Kelly). It’s kind of hilarious/really off-putting how at first they’re like “yasss independent women!!!” and “yasss bootyliciousss!!!” so you’re feeling all empowered and then you get to “Nasty Girl” which is like “you a nasty SLUT get some clothes on get some pride you nasty FREAK HO!” Likeeee let’s pick a lane here, ladies… I know it was 2001 but slut shaming was never and will never be tolerated in my book! Why tear down women when we could terrorize MEN? So hard for me personally to bounce back from that…

I actually enjoyed this one…like a lot…had me boppin’ around the house the whole listen. More punk music should have horns in it!!!! Like can you imagine how fun it would have been to see this live back in the day?

automatic 4 stars because it’s daft punk but agree that discovery is the elite album. if i’m in a daft punk mood and wanna hear any of these songs I’ll just go with the live 2007 album versions instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

used to love MIA and I think her music was definitely ahead of its time. unfortunately she’s a dumbass with horrible takes these days.
