Been a while since listening to to this album in its entirety. This one is tough, because it's hard to objectively rank, taking it for what it is, while also knowing what was coming down the pike. It's eclectic and refreshing, but never finds it's personality. This could be a feature, not a bug, but there's a lack of cohesion because of songs like 'Punk' that just feel out of place, lackluster and very (maybe intentionally) methodic. Overall, this album still hit me like a ton of bricks in 2001. I remember bopping my head to '19-2000' and saying "get the cool shoeshine" (no idea to this day if those are the actual words) in the shower while getting ready for high-school. 'Clint Eastwood' was everywhere and I was absolutely okay with that. Del's animated delivery on 'Rock the House' is epically cool and somehow steals the light from that epic flute. The fact this album had any impact on me at all, during a time when I was a self-righteous, gate-keeping metal head/punk rocker means there was something here to be enjoyed. I can't leave half stars, but if I could, I'd complain that I can't leave quarter stars, but if I could, I'd give this a 3.75. But I can't. So 4/5.
