1001 Albums Summary

An even spread of Very Good, Good, and Average tracks, but with only two or three Below Average tracks on an entire double album. My rating is 4/5.

I had already heard parts of all the album's tracks. For me this album is unlistenable. It's not like nobody before the Stooges had performed rock music in this kind of unskilled and unserious manner, such as amateur 1960s garage rock bands. By 1970 and later by the time of the rise of punk rock, for there to have been any demand for this music indicates more than a minimal amount of drug-based alienation and dysfunction in the surrounding society, plus a reaction by music listeners against the uncreative corporatization of the rock music industry.
