Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Feb 15 2024

ALBUM 1 2.14.2024 1) Let's Stay Together Very slow and tedious. I don't know why this was listened to more than 500k on Spotify. The singer's voice was inaudible, maybe because it was recorded in 1972, I don't know. 2) La-La For You Even worse than the previous one. It sounds like a lullaby for kids rather than an actual song for an audience with a taste and consciousness. 3) So You're Leaving? I wish, but I have just started this 1001 albums thing, and I'm not letting a boring album discourage me from day one. 4) What Is This Feeling Boredom, I'm telling you. And he's starting to sound high. 5) Old Time Lovin' I'm running out of creative ways to express how boring each song is. They all sound the same but more insufferable than the previous one. 6) I've Never Found A Girl Duh. If a guy looked me in the eye and said that he wrote this album for me, I would get plastic surgery and change my personality and everything else he liked about me. My gender included. 7) How Can You Mend A Broken Heart? How can you mend my Spotify recommendations after I listened to this album? 8) Judy My girl Judy, may God have mercy on you because his voice ain't gonna. 9) It Ain't No Fun For Me My thoughts about this album. But not necessarily for this song. I won't say I liked it, but I wouldn't change stations if it came up on the radio. But no, of course the only toleratable song had to be the last track in the album and the least played song on Spotify. OVERALL: Not a great start to my journey of 1001 albums. I could only listen to the songs halfway. I definitely could have died without listening to this album. Inaudible singer, bland lyrics, no emotion, toleratable instrumentation. If this album is one of the best of blues, I don't think I will ever listen to blues willingly.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Feb 16 2024

ALBUM 2 2.15.2024 1) Blackened Woah. Perfect instrumentation. I would listen to it even without the vocals, which I found likeable but not really my taste. And the song is too long. As it continues, my excitement dies down. I think I will say this for every song. 2) ...And Justice For All Again, perfect instrumentation. Great song, but not that great to listen to for nine minutes straight. 3) Eye Of The Beholder This one was less likeable than the others, but somehow, even this has the perfect instrumentation. The opening killed me in a good way; the rest killed me in a neutral way. I wouldn't dare say bad, but it's a little too much for me. 4) One Over 500k listens on Spotify? And you deserve another 500k babe. No further comments. 5) The Shortest Straw I will make this the contact name for my short friend and will put this song as her ringtone when she calls me. Thanks, Metallica. 6) Harvester Of Sorrow Chills. Literally chills. 7) The Frayed Ends Of Sanity Not too bad. But I would probably skip it if I had the chance. 8) To Live Is To Die Why does that opening first feel like living and then dying?? I absolutely adore every change of tune. Banger Banger Banger. That shit is nine minutes long, but it feels like I'm constantly skipping between three songs. And once again, on day two, my favourite song is the least streamed on Spotify. 9) Dyers Eve I feel indifferent about this one. It is very similar to the previous loud ones. Is this a bad thing? No. Is this getting repetitive and annoying, no matter how nice the songs are? Yes. OVERALL: Why is the shortest song five minutes long??? I didn't like that I had to wait for too long to hear a single vocal. At least the songs are good, though; I won't complain. All of the songs were great, but they need a little time to grow on me because I have never listened to something like that and need to adjust my ears. And it would be nice to see a little more versatility in songs.
