1999 by Prince

I almost didn't finish listening to it. Perhaps if I had been around at the time of release, I'd have a greater appreciation for this album. There were some moments on the record that had me moving but those were few and far between.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Feb 21 2024

This is not a Beatles album that I've heard before. It was quite interesting, I feel like I could hear the seeds being sewn for albums to come. Funnily enough, I have heard their first album "Please Please Me" before and there are a few tracks on that I really like. All in all, I don't think it's as good as their first and I don't think it's as good as later records. It's okay

Melodrama by Lorde
Feb 22 2024

I wasn't sure what to expect with this record. I'd of course heard "Royals" but not much else from Lorde. It was okay. I didn't hate it but I also didn't love it. It's just not my cup of tea. Lyrically she's quite clever. Her lyrics had me chuckling a few times or brought a memory, but I wasn't *moved*.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Feb 23 2024

I enjoyed this. His voice and guitar are warm and gentle, the songs are tinged with wistfulness and melancholia. I imagine this must've been quite a change of pace when compared to popular albums at the time. River Man was the stand-out track for me, I found that I was paying more attention because of it. That being said, I don't know that it's something I'll listen to again in a hurry.

All Directions by The Temptations
Feb 24 2024

It was a pleasant listen with some funky moments, Papa Was A Rollin' Stone is the obvious standout track.
