Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Feb 22 2024

The intro instrumental track, also the title track, is peaceful and sets the tone light. Stretched, almost anguished vocals join heavy riffs as the production is powered by guitar with accompanying drums. Tracks tie “teen angst” to “teen hope” as the Pumpkins paint a picture of what is now and what is to come. 28 tracks spanning over 2 hours in length portray the passion of the craft that embellish the Pumpkins critically acclaimed rapport.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Feb 23 2024

Ok this is hit or miss beautiful. Peaches en Regalia, Little Umbrellas, and aspects of Son of Mr. Green Genes and It Must Be A Camel entrance the mind into pink-sand Japanese beaches, waters glistening in the rosy sunset intertwined with Swiss Alps summers careening thru the foliage with folly folk along with adventurous accolades of accomplishing the highest of climbs in the Appalachians. The man plays and incorporates the fiddle like no other. In the greater scheme of the soundscape, various instruments create this tapestry of art in a distinct and pleasing manner. The fusion of rock and jazz is incredible. Favorite track gotta be the intro, the flutes and horns are lovely. Little Umbrellas at #2, the saxophone, classical piano, and keyboard combo is beautiful. Dilla must have loved this.
