1001 Albums Summary

I've gotta say, it's got some serious vocal prowess. The harmonies are tight, and the production is good. That said, it didn't quite captivate me like I hoped. The back and forth of female empowerment and slut shaming is wild! Overall its fine for background vibes, but it didn't have that wow factor. Still, there are some gems in there.

Oof this was a tough listen. I love when people, musicians, whatever do what they love but this was too experimental for me. Maybe I’m too sober to listen but this one did not land I couldn’t wait for it to end.

Absolute banger! Household regular around here. Jazz is the superior genre.

The clash again. Starting to feel like homework…

Album feels like a road trip. It gives comfort and easy listening. Good golly miss Molly doesn’t seem to fit in the album for me. My only beef is they’re not born in the bayou they’re from around Berkeley.

Listened to the top song from this album. Didn’t like. Sounds like he doesn’t trust himself singing.

There are many albums in the world and this is one of them…the album resonates for me as a time capsule of some of the darker days of my life. Musically I enjoy the clown car ride that system of the down can bring to a genre that is overall mostly loud noise. I enjoy Serj Tankians vocals because of how different they are compared to other musicians in this genre. Overall I assume I’ll be in the minority but if you can get past some of the screaming and intensity, System of the Downs debut self titled album bangs and was a unique take on rock.
