1001 Albums Summary

3. Listened to this while working. I liked some of the tunes, but there wasn’t anything that really moved me. 90s alt rock all sounds kinda the same to me. Favorite songs: The Act We Act (I really liked the guitar that opened the album) and Changes.

I really liked this. Sounded a lot like Sonic Youth, but more political. I’m excited to check out their other albums.

Couldn’t get through this one. I guess I prefer Joao plus Astrud than Astrud solo.

Meh. I liked the distortion and the general vibe, but it didn’t really do anything for me.

Struggled to get through this. I appreciated some of the guitar playing and keyboards, but I find Geddy Lee’s voice really annoying, and I couldn’t really follow the melodies.

Absolutely not.

Can’t bring myself to give this a 5 because I think “Thank You” and “Living Loving Maid” are kinda dull. But the riff in “What is and What Should Never Be” around 3:30 transports me to a higher plane of existence.

My main complaint is that “The Man Comes Around” is so knock-your-socks-off good that it outshines the rest of the album.
