1001 Albums Summary

I understand what people like about it, and I feel it as well in some sections- particularly on One. I did generally enjoy that song, and understand why it was the hit. But I found everything to be too long and too much; it kind of drowned me out. But the vibes were cool, just not for me.

I found this to be an enjoyable listen, I didn’t love the song/album structure but I know social media has atrophied my attention span. I just found the songs way too long, I loved when the vocals would kick in but it would only be towards the back of 10+ min song; but the album is very well executed and well done.

I feel like I’m watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, so I’m vibing like cool cat fr, smoking a doobie- it’s solid old school jazz, I can fuck with it for sure. The vibes of the late 50’s early 60’s was just so cool, peak art aesthetic era; need me a restored MCM New York apartment

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one” I’m notoriously anti-Beatles, but they weren’t legends for no reason. Lennon’s writing on this album is certainly solid, sonically the standouts for me are when he leaned into the more gritty folk rock sound like on I Don’t Want to be a Soldier Mama and Crippled Inside. Another stand out for me was Oh My Love, a very pretty, softer song. Good album
