Muse seems like one of those bands that looks good on paper. But when it comes to execution, something feels off. Like, I can hear that they're trying, but there's just something not there, whether it's the basic lyricism or a lack of passion in the music. I can hear what they're saying, but I don't believe them.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Apr 12 2024

At first it didn't grab me, but I warmed up to it. I appreciate the musicianship and sincerity of the songs.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Apr 13 2024

Davis kicking off his fusion period with heavy hitters like Shorter, Hancock, McLaughlin, and Zawinul. What else is there to say.

1999 by Prince
Apr 14 2024

I'm not as versed in Prince as I would like, so i was nervous about this one. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. While I don't crave that synth sound so synonymous with the 80's, I did appreciate the era-defining quality and influence of it. If I'm in the mood, I could find myself coming back to this.

Graceland by Paul Simon
Apr 15 2024

I have a special place in my heart for the music of Paul Simon.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Apr 16 2024

I wanted to like this album more. While it sounded great and there were some great tracks, I feel overall it didn't grab me as much as say '1999'. The length was also very demanding.

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Apr 17 2024

I feel like this one just missed the 5 rating. I love Neil and this one had some great tracks including esrablishing himself as the godfather of grunge on the 2nd half. But it was missing something for me.

Apr 18 2024

Ah, the Barrett years. I appreciate the debut album in its psychedelia, but it doesn't hit me the way the other classic Floyd albums do.

Spiderland by Slint
Apr 19 2024

I wish I could say I liked it more because of how much it influenced the artists I like and its cult status. (maybe a bunch more listens needed) but I don't find myself drawn to it.

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Apr 20 2024

Disappointed in this. I liked the first 2 tracks from radio play, but the rest is all the same. I get the nostalgia 80's vibe it's got going, but wanted more to happen.
