Murmur by R.E.M.
May 21 2024

There's nothing wrong with this album, but I also have no intention of going out of my way to listen to it again either. There were some songs I liked like '9-9' and 'West of the Fields', but most of the album didn't vibe with me with the overly bright, twangy, and repetitive sound. Overall I was waiting for it to end.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 22 2024

I liked it. It was my first time listening to CCR outside their most popular songs and it was good. There's some sort of nostalgia listening to their music and the vocals are great.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
May 23 2024

This album is outside of my usual listening habits but I enjoyed it. The guy has a big voice with a lot of range and the music has that distinctive 'oldies' sound which I'm a fan of. As an album however it started to grate on my ears halfway. That isn't to say it was unpleasant, I'd definitely relisten to some of the songs here in isolation, like 'Cry to Me', 'Goodbye Baby', and 'If you need me' being standouts.

Back In Black by AC/DC
May 24 2024

It's really easy to shit on AC/DC by acknowleding how repetitive it is (which they've mentioned before.) or the juvenile lyrics, but in my opinion, AC/DC doesn't need to be anything else. It's music that's meant to be played loud, and it's perfect to throw on as a soundtrack in the background to hype something else up: like a workout, or a sporting event. As for my personal opinion, I thought it was okay. Listening to most of the songs on this album in isolation is fine (Hells Bells and Thunderstruck are considered classic for a reason.) but man, I just can't handle 42 minutes straight of AC/DC. After a while, it just becomes noise and starts to grate on my ears.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
May 25 2024

Funky little album with some nice bass and a healthy dose of cowbell. Only problem is the singer gets obnoxious sometimes, whether it's intentional or not. (New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down being an example.)

Machine Gun Etiquette by The Damned
May 26 2024

It's an alright album, I don't have any strong feelings either way.
