1001 Albums Summary

listened to the first six tracks two years ago and remember feeling in awe of how lush the production was. pretty immaculate arrangements on some of these tracks. I didn’t pay full attention on this first full listen so I haven’t grasped all of the lyrical content yet, but from what I’ve picked up on in the first third it’s very conversational and feels very natural. his emotions feel so real and naturally conveyed in his performances. need to give this another listen to fully grasp it (which is gonna be the case for most of these albums that I’m listening to for the first time) but this is obviously very good. 7.5-8

already very familiar with this album. one of the standard-bearers for sample-based music for me, so music fun and consistently vibrant across its 18 tracks. I haven’t listened to this in a while so I’m rating this based off memory. 9-9.5
