Not for me. I like one or two Joni Mitchell songs but this was a bit of a slow slog. Some nice guitar work, some interesting attempts at arrangement but often incoherent dross
Innovative for its time, instantly recognisable as the white stripes
Equal parts slow burn funk groove / hotel lobby music
Classic. Mark Knopfler a hero on guitar

“One Nation Under A Groove” pretty funky.
Seminal. So good.
Hm. Hard to review electronic music from the 70s when they probably only had a moog and basic synthesiser. But without Kraftwerk… would Joy Division, New Order, Ultravox, Depeche Mode etc etc have had the same foundation… hmmmmm
Likely the best album of the 1001 and one of my favourite 5 albums of all time. Stark and stripped back compared to Born To Run. Vocals magnificent, musically beautiful. Fluid and cohesive to listen to as an album. All downhill from here
Hit and Missy
Always avoided the Yardbirds because I can’t stand Eric Clapton. This was fine but no catchy heavy hitters… all a bit generic. 3* from me
Listened outside on a tinny iPhone speaker and honestly the first 4 songs sounded like white noise. Held it to my ear for “when you sleep” and could pick out some melody. Provisional 2* but I’ll try again with headphones
