I have not heard much punk-rock music but I am acceptant that it doesn't do much for me. I found Ramones's Self-Titled to be dull and repetitive, and salvaged primarily by the fact that it wasn't even 30 minutes long. The music is meat-and-potatoes and I wouldn't say it's inherently bad. It's the monotony that grates and unfortunately this album is little more than monotony. As I am not a punk-rock fan, and would like to judge these albums at least partially from a standpoint of what they were attempting to do, or perhaps more fairly and broadly, from consideration of the genre, and since I find most punk rock somewhat nebulous and uninteresting, I'm not going to give this one star or anything even if my personal enjoyment of the album was like a 3 or a 4 out of 10.
