Let's Stay Together by Al Green

3 or 4. Good enough to listen again. Inspiration of every Daptone record ever made. How can you mend a broken heart version is great

Queen II by Queen
Aug 01 2024

I like Queen, some of their singles are banging, but I’m not a big fan. Unfortunately, this album mostly magnifies things I do not like about them. Corny prog and metal guitar parts, dramatic opera like vocals, all without an actual decent hook or song… It is interesting to hear this period, to see how they were still developing and searching, but further than that, I’d never listen to this album again.

I can almost taste the whiskey while listening to this album. Great atmosphere, gives me a uplifting boost. But it’s a tad long, and I wouldn’t play the album again anytime soon.

Synchronicity by The Police
Aug 05 2024

Hit and miss album. I miss the punk. 3 stars

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Aug 06 2024

Beautiful farewell. Normally not my cup of tea but his deep baritone voice is really moving in this context. Beautiful minimalistic arrangements as well.

Moving Pictures by Rush
Aug 07 2024

This is the period where progrock becomes corny, and I’m not in for the ride. Great musicianship all around, but the songs are not going anywhere, and I’m not fond of the vocals either.

It is groovy alright. And it is good vibes. But it does not really impress or stick that much.
