Illmatic by Nas
Aug 26 2024

Not my cup of tea when it comes to rap. Still a pretty dope album though. Songs stream naturally from one song to the next. Great samples; the baselines sampled are absolutely nutty. To figure out a tone and cadence that fits the vibe of the samples is insane. Super talented guy, just not my personal choice when it comes to rap. Stand out songs: NY State of mind, Life's a Bitch, The World is Yours, Halftime, Represent.

Station To Station by David Bowie
Aug 27 2024

Love the album. Reminds me of that dark feeling at 2 AM when you know you should not do more coke but you do anyways; probably what he was doing when recording. The middle of the album was a tiny bit weak in comparison to the title song and the last two songs. Though the middle songs felt a bit more heartfelt. The keys he plays are sometimes bluesy, jazzy, and I love when he gets funky. Station to Station the song is fucking awesome and then it gets funky as hell with the last two tracks. Love it. Stand out tracks: Station to Station, Stay, Wild as the Wind.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Aug 28 2024

Great live performances. Love the keys used throughout and the drums are very lively. Sarah's voice is just awesome, never really listened to that style of jazz voice before. Had a lot of joy at the beginning listening but the songs started to blend in with each other after a while. Some great humor in it as well. Stand out songs: September in the Rain, Willow Weep for Me

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Aug 29 2024

Awesome album. The freshest thing I have heard all year and it's 35 years old. the samples are incredible; reggae guitar, baselines, vocals, everything. I want more and more and more. That last track just set the fucking tone for the rest of the day too. Easily will come back to this album. The drums are incredible too. Stand out Tracks: Safe from Heaven, One love, Unfinished Sympathy, Hymn of the Big Wheel
