the longest 28 minutes ive ever spent. mindnumbing rock and roll thats slightly redeemed by his vocal chops. horrible otherwise

i enjoyed this a lot more than i thought i would! there was a lot of cool ambience throughout the record, the tone had a warble to it that i really enjoyed, and the percussion was always driving while still fitting the loose and dreamy mood of the album. really enjoyed.

some of the instrumentation was cool and her voice was beautiful but overall it was pretty uninteresting. i respect it and i can see why someone would love it but its just not for me at all.

this was fantastic! the guitar work and the drumming were amazing through out and the cheeky lyrics about pop culture and the new wave elements were all super fun. definitely a new favorite.

i’ve already heard this but this just solidified how perfect this album is. every element, from prince’s amazing vocal chops to the sparkling keys to the funky rhythm section to the complete perfection of the title track just truly shows how beautiful music can be. its all killer and i cant recommend it enough.

from the first moments with that guitar rhythm and the percussion coming in bit by bit i could tell this was special. whole album was extremely groovy with some cool tongue-in-cheek vocal chants. great album.
