Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Sep 26 2024

What an iconic classic metal album. It's crazy to think that this is baby mild music now. Back than it was heavy! Man, to think Ozzy had his shit together. The songs on here that are radio famous are good, but there's a few others that I'd never heard of that I liked more. Electric Funeral is actually so good! The lyrics are also so hippy in retrospect lol

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Sep 27 2024

A landmark album for Eminem I'm sure. I knew a lot of the songs, but there were a few I didn't know. It's definitely his earlier work. Some of it feels very Street, but in his case, more trailer trash than hood. It's how a lot of his early music sounds to me. I feel very lethbridge listening to this lol.

An absolute Masterpiece of an album. It really feels like they're finding their voice in this album. It has that authentic British Rock feel, and it's elevated by the trained ear of an operatic connoisseur. It's no wonder why so many of these songs end up on Greatest Hits and radios everywhere. The unfortunate part is that there are so many good songs on this album that they all don't make it to public consciousness. Quite a few songs on here that I've never heard before and ones that I wish more people knew. Not their only great album but one of the best. They took a stab at something different and really leaned in, and it definitely paid off.

All Directions by The Temptations

A fun, upbeat album. I love diving back into funky 70's jams. Such great musicality and stage presence, even through the audio. The songs and lyrics really seat you in the time period. Themes of community, brotherhood, race, and empowerment. A soundtrack for a generation.

Stankonia by OutKast

Pretty fun album overall. I do like the inclusion of Erykah Badu. There's lots of influence of her music in this album, which I do like. Funky beats with good hooks. A bit too much talking for me though. All in all, not a bad listen. Definitely has a lot of their character throughout.

The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter by The Incredible String Band
Oct 03 2024

Incredibly hippy album lol. It's fun, but hard to listen to for long. It's sooo slooow. I think this is what people think Simon & Garfunkel is. There's a lot of fun influences. Rock, Appalachian, Hindustani, Singer Songwriter, Folk Since of the songs are whacky long lol
