Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Oct 10 2024

Cute. Nothing special really. ‘Vibes-y’ maybe how I would describe it. I don’t know anything about rap but I would’ve thought it came out 10 years before it actually did. I like the phone gimmick.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Oct 11 2024

I was eight in 2014- prime Taylor Swift age- so obviously I had the CD. I still think the album sounds better and more textured with the sound of the CD spinning behind everything and between songs. I guess it’s pretty good, and I do like this kind of synth pop but really the production is the best thing about it. Lyrics aren’t amazing but there is some personality coming through and some of the songs tell pretty vivid stories, particularly Style and New Romantics. I still think for this kind of thing I’ll turn to Carly Rae Jepsen first.

Guero by Beck
Oct 12 2024

There are a handful of good songs but for most I’d feel like the song had gone on for ages, check how long it was, and see that it’d only been 2 or 3 minutes. Just bleh.

Debut by Björk
Oct 13 2024

I really like her voice I just think the instrumentals are a bit sparse for my taste

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Oct 14 2024

The first half is really fun. The second is dull. Michael Jackson cannot convey emotion in his voice and shouldn’t try to sing ballads. I will revisit a few songs from this album- off the wall and get on the floor specifically.

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Oct 15 2024

Quite fun. I like the movie thing. The trouble is I am not a twelve year old boy so my utility for this album is extremely limited, and I probably won’t listen again. I also think that while Eminem is a pretty decent storyteller he is not particularly insightful and isn’t ’good with words’ on an aesthetic level. If this album was a movie it’d be a throwaway horror flick, all plot and no substance.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Oct 16 2024

“ Blacks and whites don't realize that they're really pink and brown” Very funny album. They seem to really like stevie wonder. Not much replay value though. “The muffled screams of a dying baby” *epic saxophone riff*

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Oct 17 2024

Generic and uninspired. Like a fake band from a Disney channel movie.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Oct 19 2024

Not totally totally my thing, mainly because I wish they’d speed up a bit. But still very good

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Oct 24 2024

I wanted to like it but I did not. SO BORING and somehow also really irritating. I don’t get it
