Music in Exile
Songhoy BluesVery Black Keys to start - I like Sebour with its clear Damon Albarn influence. Less produced as it goes on - fun to hear the group at their original. Would like to see the documentary about them!

Started it thinking, “ah, I see where this will go as they develop through their albums” - but it happens across this album! Rolling Stones / The Who musical world in the beginning, then blues influence, then HELLO high tenor vocal. Can see why it stands the test of time!
Really like the short track lengths. V jazzy v fusion. Pretty sure Them Changes came out before 2017 though…?
Music is good - Beatles, Who-esque. Lyrics are extremely dated and chauvinistic. Paint It Black is the exception!
Sooo random - the order is WILD, but the singles are TIMELESS. Dirty Loops took way more inspiration from him than I thought?
I’m sure it changed the game, but it’s not for me.
So fun to hear a big band Ray album!
Not for me
