The original Dire Straits album is iconic just for Sultans of Swing alone. A song easily ranking in possibly top 50 hits of all time. The melding of the bass with the guitar is Dire Straits is all about and their inaugural album easily shows this off.
A couple solid songs from the 7th studio album, but a couple forgettable pieces. I feel the beginning of the album starts very slow then builds to a latter half that is quite strong.
The Doors inaugural album opens with a song that memorable to it's core for the catchy keyboard synth and simple vocals. After this it begins to get lost in what it wants to convey while jumping between a handful of low points through out the run time. While the highs are high. The lows are low.
An all time classic by the man Elton John. The whole album keeps to focused on Elton's gorgeous piano work while having some amazing percussion backing that piano.
In the era of Big Band music akin to this, Sarah Vaughn knows how to make this entertaining from start to finish. Hearing this as a live performance added so much more to it than needed and made a great time piece out of it. All of comments in between songs made this more enjoyable. Would this go into my regular daily playlist; probably not. But, this is definitely a great piece of history to listen to.
A great showcase of smooth piano work and great vocals
Not my favorite Led Zeppelin album in fact I believe it to be a weaker album for the group. It starts with an incredible high not only for it to taper into some of the groups more forgettable tracks.
