Precious - 4/5 The phone call - 2.5/3 Up the neck - 3/4 Tattooed love boys - 5/5 Space invader - 4/5 The wait - 5/5 Stop your sobbing - 3.5/5 Kid - 4.5/5 Private life - 3.2/5 Brass in pocket - 5/5 Lovers of today - 2/5 Mystery achievement - 5/5 4.09/5 My mom loves them, lol. I've never really liked Chrissie's voice (maybe that's why I like the instrumental Space Invader more?). The songs in general have a nice catch. Songs I might listen to again: tattooed love boys, the wait (nice bass line), brass in pocket, mystery achievement
Favorite of mine, oc. Kinda ahead of its time. after years of listening to it I seemed to hear a similarity in the voice of Ian Curtis and that of Jim Morrison, am I going crazy? my bad, i didn't know the story of Johnny Cash's live concerts in prisons (and apparently there are other concert albums of his on this list). it was interesting to learn about it. Love the energy of the crowd but tbh I don't really care and... I hate country.
Is it called "Eliminator" because it makes you want to eliminate yourself? Anyway, even though the songs might have seemed interesting at first, they lost me soon after. Each song seemed similar to the other. It could have been a shorter album or even an EP.
Why I think 'One-Sided Love Affair' would fit perfectly on Will Wood's The Normal Album. Good album for its time, I think. Nothing groundbreaking. "Money Honey" will always be a Lady Gaga song, sorry.
Finest worksong - 3/5 Welcome to the occupation - 4.5/5 Exhuming McCarthy - 5/5 Disturbance at the heron house - 4.6/5 Strange - 3.8/5 It's the end of the world as we know it - 4.8/5 The one I love - 5/5 Fireplace - 5/5 Lighting Hopkins - 4.8/5 King of birds - 4/5 Oddfellows local 151 - 4.8/5 4.48/5
Not my cup of tea, just feels like typical '60s pop to me.
I don't like reggae, not with this voice. The saxophone is ok but I didn't really like it. Every song seemed the same to me. 'King' is the one I liked the most. The album cover gives me a headache
Good (I guess?) but not for me.
Strong start full of hits, second part a bit weaker, after all it was their first album. Not their best but a solid start.
