Not a Kanye fan at all, but Power and All of the Lights are certified stadium bangers, the rest is kinda forgettable for me. Loved the instrumentals for most of the songs but I hate his voice in most of them

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jan 03 2025

This album is carried by 'Take Me Out' but in a way that overshadows the other bangers on it. 40', Michael, and The Dark of the Matinee are just a few that i think deserve way more recognition. Also, I'm sad that I never got the chance to see FF as they were up and coming in small venues as unfortunately, I was 4 when this album came out

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Jan 04 2025

This was my first time listening to a Kendrick Lamar album from cover to cover and WOW. I suppose there is a reason that he won a Pulitzer for his writing because his lyrics are so deep. The features are so good, especially the Thundercat ones and the technically an interview with Tupac in Mortal Man? Also the production is so clean on all of them that this really is an album you can just close your eyes and enjoy it for all parts of it

Extremely repetitive. I love this type of music a lot, but this was just too much for me. The only song I knew was Fairytale of New York but even then, I like that song better when its a bit censored (Shout out to the Longest Johns for my favorite version). I'm not a fan of the mumble singing even though that does come with the genre. overall kinda forgettable and I know spotify only has the extended version, but its way too long and only an hour and 4 minutes.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jan 06 2025

I will admit, I am not a die hard CCR fan, but I do enjoy their music! This album didn't have a single song that I had heard before on it but it was still exactly what I expected from them with just enough variation to keep it interesting. Travelin' Band was my highlight from this album

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Jan 07 2025

I had a vague understanding of who Public Enemy are, but I knew that they were THE Hip Hop/ Rap group of the 80s and 90s. Also I feel like I did know somewhere in the back of my brain that Flavor Flav was in Public Enemy, but it made a lot more sense when I read it. Welcome to the Terrordome is definitely my favorite from this album and the only song I knew prior was of course Fight the Power. I love their use of sampling especially in their instrumentals

God is a woman, Andre3000 said it himself. This being essentially 2 albums, one by Big Boi and one by Andre3000 was really interesting. The first half is very much of the more traditional Hip Hop whereas the second half is a little bit more experimental but thats just how their styles were. The songs were great, the interludes were fun, and of course the two huge songs off of this album are classics. But it did leave me with a question (that I did zero research to find the answer) how did they do this album live? did they do it in its entirety? was their portion of their concerts over 2 hours long? many questions

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Jan 09 2025

prog rock is cool and all, but putting half an album on one song is crazy, especially when its just alright

The Coral by The Coral
Jan 10 2025

i really vibe with their psychedelic folky sound and i was already aware of them because of this album, and specifically the song dreaming of you because of the show Scrubs and a sax.co.uk video from a decade ago. I know they've released a few albums recently and this makes me want to give those a go since i really enjoyed this

London Calling by The Clash
Jan 11 2025

Honestly aside from the couple hits on this album, it didnt really do anything for me. kinda repetitive and im not a fan of the mumble singing. I did want to like it tho

Debut by Björk
Jan 12 2025

My favorite song off of this is actually the most listened to one, I love The Anchor Song. the whole album is just vibes and pretty and I enjoy that

Frampton Comes Alive by Peter Frampton
Jan 13 2025

a very all right album for me, the guitar playing is great but most of the rest of each song feels stock standard rock, which isnt the worst thing
