1001 Albums Summary

Super fun rock album! I could totally tell that Jack White is the iconic lead voice of The White Stripes even without having known his name. Great bass and guitar riffs, definitely something I would return to even just for the instrumentals. Freedom At 21 feels a little dated, almost like a 2000s Mother Mother song (not that that’s necessarily bad but White’s voice on this song in particular feels derivative), but all of the other songs feel timeless! I also love the folk rock Bob Dylan/Bon Jovi influence on the title track. YASS piano on Weep Themselves To Sleep. Oh MAN, I am just loving the decades of rock influence across this whole album. Total Elvis bluesy vibes on I’m Shakin. Favorites: Missing Pieces, Sixteen Saltines, Love Interruption, Blunderbuss, Hypocritical Kiss, Weep Themselves To Sleep, I’m Shakin’, On And On And On, and Take Me With You When You Go. Least Favorite: Freedom At 21 REALLY good album: 8.5/10 !!!

I’m not typically a fan of heavy metal because I think there’s a time and place for most music, but I have not been able to find that for heavy metal. However, I do think there is a time and place to be able to sit down and truly listen to a critically acclaimed album, which is exactly what I did with Metallica’s self-titled. I adore the iconic guitar and drum riffs that are so quintessentially “Metallica”, and I especially adore their more chill (at least for Metallica!!) music, ESPECIALLY “Nothing Else Matters”. What a FABULOUS song, from the vocals, to the lyrics, to the instrumentals. Favorites: Sad But True, The Unforgiven, Wherever I May Roam, Nothing Else Matters (MWAHHH SO GOOD!!!), and The God That Failed Least Favorite: Holier Than Thou Rating: 7.5/10

Waittttt omg the first song was in the movie Sing 2 Fabulous album, no notes, no critiques! Favs: Take Me with U, The Beautiful Ones, Darling Nikki, When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U, and Purple Rain Least Fav: Computer Blues Rating: 9/10
