I’ve listened to this from start to end once or twice. There’s a reason Enjoy The Silence and Personal Jesus are hits and the rest of the album holds of it’s own. World In My Eyes is such a strong intro to this album. Halo could easily be soundtrack to a cool vampire fantasy. Waiting for the night is one i would listen to before falling asleep. One i dislike is (a B side?) Kaleid, i’m just not into that type of music. Maybe if this was the first i’ve heard of it but no.

Not a bad album. I do listen to VU once in a while but i’d get bored of the sound quickly if i were to ever listen to them as much as i listen to other bands. Funny thing is some of those bands are said to be inspired by VU and Lou Reed which makes me believe they are a bit overrated because i don’t see how can they be put unto them same level of inspiration as The Beatles or Pink Floyd. Maybe i’m being judgemental because of the Warhol scene they were a part of. Anyway even though i may sound harsh by my previous words, i enjoy 60’s rock music so this wasn’t a bad time. Candy Says and Pale Blue Eyes are constant songs on my playlists but The Murder Mystery was hard to get through.

The Band
This is one of those bands i’ve only heard of. This album is on the country side of classic rock. I’ve enjoyed the guitar bits but have to give it more time hear the lyrics because that makes all the difference for country music. I can see how Dylan was involved with them. Because it was more of an introduction for me i’m going to give it a 3.

1979 has been a favourite one for me since i was a teen. I think the guitar riff alone in this song inspired many 00’s post-punk/garage bands. This has been my first full listen as the album is longer than 2 hours but i’ve enjoyed it. I’ve been leaning mostly on the softer songs on the album as the songs Jellybelly and Tales of a Scorched Earth felt a bit harder to enjoy but Muzzle is a great one too. The intro and outro of the album are quite nice too, i listen to Farewell And Goodnight occasionally these past few months. Might have to come back to this one.

Well i’m biased as hell because this was one of my favourite records when i was 13 and i haven’t enjoyed music quite like that ever since. It gets old after awhile but still some of the songs like Let Down or The Tourist are still affecting for me. Fitter Happier is one reason for downvote it felt like a cheesy idea even when i was an adolescent.

Black Holes and Revelations
Muse
This is one of those albums i always listen to. Muse had a great first 5 run. Lyrically, melodically it’s sound. Even the bonus track is great. Some songs get old like Supermassive Black Hole or Starlight but they still hype me up. Soldier’s Poem is a hidden gem. Some people might find this album noisy or Bellamy’s falsettos may not be what they’d enjoy but not for me. Overall it’s a guitar based album and one of the last mainstream ones so even that deserves 5 stars.
Ps.: I recommend everyone to listen Knights of Cydonia on H.A.A.R.P live album, the energy is contagious.

It’s good but gets repetitive after awhile. I’ve always enjoyed Seven Nation Army and their cover of I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself but it’s tiring to listen to the full album. It’d be amazing to hear it live though, they are the epitome of 00’s garage band sound.

A childhood classic for me with a few fillers. Time signature change in “Take me Out” is always great to hear.

This is one of those great debuts. From Alive to Black all songs are grunge classics. I’m older now but Jeremy reminds me of my school mate who got shot at his home right after his high school graduation.
