Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Jan 26 2025

I liked it, it has a very “timeless” feel where it could be from the 40s or the 20s, it also feels very similar to Vampire Weekend but more stripped back. Not sure I’d listen to it regularly as it's not really my thing but it was an enjoyable experience

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jan 27 2025

hornier than i expected (perhaps I am stupid) i like how "large scale" some of the songs feel

Jan 28 2025

I can't really get excited about this genre of hip-hop (god i'm such a hater 😭), though I appreciate how light-hearted it is and how it doesn't take itself super seriously my favourite song was probably Method Man, I feel like it's the most unique and creative overall while it's not really my thing you can clearly see the influence for later hiphop which i enjoy more, particularly with the "random" samples which artists like MF DOOM would develop more heavily in the future

The Cars by The Cars
Jan 30 2025

now thats more like it!! the harmonised sections in "good times roll" are literally identical to Queen damn this was very enjoyable i liked it, it's fun and energetic and still feels very modern despite being almost 50 years old

Connected by Stereo MC's
Jan 31 2025

I feel like when you want to do this very nonchalant laid back sounding vocals you need to compensate with some really good quality exciting production (the band Yard Act is a great example of this done well) unfortunately this band doesn't really do that and so the songs come off as a bit boring, some of them are kinda fun but I have to agree that overall it's a bit mid

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Feb 01 2025

i can see why this is considered a classic it does kind of annoy me how "another brick in the wall" is so commonly misinterpreted as "school bad" when it's about his personal experiences with abusive teachers. on the other hand, I had to google this so perhaps it's a reasonable interpretation. overall enjoyable but there are too many short songs that kind of end up feeling like filler imo favourites: another brick in the wall, young lust, one of my turns, the trial

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Feb 04 2025

i love the smiths thank god morrissey isnt real haven't ever actually listened to this full album, I do really like when they dip into more of a rock feel like in the title track. the next few songs were a little underwhelming but then Cemetery Gates is an absolute BANGER overall it's very fun but a few songs are a bit forgettable i think

Feb 13 2025

i liked this album! it does have a very consistent sound which can make it hard to distinguish between songs sometimes, however it's a good sound so i can excuse it
