Good old blues-rock. Not the thing I would listen on a daily basis
Too intricate for me. Maybe in ten years I will grow on it.
I guess it is ok. Not the best album of all times, but decent. All songs are like background soundtracks to the 80's movies. I liked the energy, but it's kinda blurry - I can't distinguish a song that is No1 on the album. In short: good "background noise" album :)
The first impression: plain. How to distinguish it from many-many other country/folk albums? (Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, g.o.a.t.s...) Another girl singing about love, men, America etc. However. However! It grew on me. It's good for a car ride. It's good to lift your mood/spirit a little. Nice!
I liked the way they played with styles. From punk riffs to a calm acoustic guitar. Aside from that - the album is a mid pop-rock piece. But in a good way. A solid 3! Lyrics in all of their songs are a bit odd, that's why my favourite track on the album is an instrumentall 'Area 51' - gives me a 'main hero' energy.
Unfortunately, I'm not into electronic music. It's not the fault of the album, though. It is definitely a gulp of fresh air during these 1001 album marathon: a drop of smth interesting in the sea of punk, rock and country music. The arrangements and transitions between the parts of tracks are quite interesting, and the samples are cool. Again, I'm not a big fan, but it's worth a listen once and it's quite interesting.
I love it.
Good new wave album! Not the one I will listen again, but it was a good experience. Solid 3. Ma favourites are: Why'd ya do it, Working class hero
