1001 Albums Summary

Repetitive but fun medium-energy instrumental drum/guitar tracks carried by some great vocals. Halfway between soul and funk. Track 3 and 6 could be on the cowboy bebop soundtrack, but this album does feel slightly sauceless otherwise. Some tracks are in there twice as singles.

Would make the perfect soundtrack to an early 2000s movie that would make you cry (if it isnt already). Vaguely like if Bob Dylan was given country fairground backing tracks. Missing a little garfunkel in the mix. You Can Call Me Al is an all-time for good reason. Honestly some godly mixing done on this one too wow. Overall not for me musically but the peaks peak.

I see where persona gets its good looks from. Fun album w some real juicy funk, shiny beats and great acoustic instrument mixing, shoutout to the shaker in Don't you worry about a thing. Nicely varied in tones.

Repetitive new wave album with some cool ideas and 'Once In a Lifetime'. AnD yOU MaY Ask YouRSeLf is this album any good? It didn't click with me but its hard to argue its anything but unique and full of fresh ideas. Highlights include the song where the vocal is a monotone reading of the Face Off wiki and Fela's Riff, a song entirely comprised of a fella's dope riff.

Old guys in a garage jamming out. Awesome bluesy boogie rock solos. Theres a song named Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers. 'Nuff said.

An eric clapton vehicle with bluesy tones and the occasional elton john-like melody. The guitars make for such a specific and powerful guitar sound that makes each of the songs feel raw and rich. Sounds straight out of the 70s, some of the songs would fit either into guardians of the galaxy or a jimmy jacks rib shack. I have no specific care for this vibe but it's a very specific mood that I'd coast down route 66 to any day.

Ignoring wonderwall Ryan Adams is a defining voice of american music. Unfortunately that voice isnt very good. this album may have defined a whole generation of aging mid-american parents but everything done here has been done better elsewhere. Folk tracks come off as Bob Dylan written by committee, romance songs sound like parodies of themselves, the country tracks feel like a dark warning of country to come. The lyrics have not a shred of originality, this album feel defined by platitudes. There are some pleasant guitar chords in the background but this is one generic, default, empty nothingburger album overall and ultimately, isnt that the worst thing music can be?.

I don't know what classic rock means but I hope it's this. This album artfully combines rock drums and riffs with some super chill tones which results in a super smooth vibey sound. Type of music to drink to at a bartop.
