I'm a Minnesotan, so Purple Rain is obligatory around here. What a classic and what a way to start off my 1001 Albums journey! Every song on this album is incredible, it's Prince's masterpiece and leaves a legacy.

Hasn't aged as well as I remember it on initial release, but still a fun album! I've always loved that rootsy, fuzzy vocal sound and how stripped down The Black Keys production is. This still rocks!

The harmonies! Suite Judy Blue Eyes is traditionally the song I first put on to try any new audio equipment, but I had never given the full album a listen. Solid but dated and a little messy and amateurish by modern standards.

Old school cool, Green's voice is so velvety. Love all the horns! Needs more sing-along hits after the title track.
