Overall impression: unique vocals, simple instrumentation, and nice mix of upbeat and slower songs. Not my favorite voice, though. Tell Me Why: Twangy guitar, simple instrumentation, different than a lot of what I listen to. His voice sounds young, too. After the Gold Rush: Novel to hear an artist pushing towards the edge of their range. I like that this song has a story to it. Modern songs don't do as much storytelling, which is a bit of shame. When You Were Young: Vaguely familiar, maybe? Nice vocal harmonies. Southern Man: Liking guitar on this one. First song with drums? Favorite song so far, I think. Till the Morning Comes: Meh, not a big fan. Oh, Lonesome Me: Child of Kermit and John Denver? Is that you? Don't Let It Bring You Down: Okay I'd really like someone to cover this who isn't Neil Young, because the songs are fun but his voice is just not up my alley. Birds: Such a different tone, both vocally and lyrically. Short but so sweet. When You Dance I Can Really Love: Fun title for a fun, upbeat song. I Believe in You: I believe in falling asleep at 5pm in the office, because that's what this song is doing to me. Cripple Creek Ferry: Very random song - kinda like it because of that.
