Metallica by Metallica
Apr 15 2025

This was the first time I'd ever consciously listened to anything by Metallica, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. I was sort of ideologically opposed to some of the songs (The God That Failed in particular,) and I found some to be a bit boring (Nothing Else Matters,) but those are just personal opinions and in general, I really enjoyed the album.

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Apr 16 2025

Each song was literally just the same tune repeated over and over again for three to four minutes. I'm not exaggerating at all. Every. Single. Song. Also, his voice was terrible, and he decided that it would be a great idea to not mask that fact by having only a guitar for accompaniment. There were maybe two songs that had more instrumentation, and unsurprisingly, his voice didn't sound as terrible! Leonard Cohen, I don't care how good your writing is if you keep repeating the same tune over and over. If you're good at poetry but bad at musicality, write a poem, not a song. Thank you and goodnight.
