Duke Ellington
1/5
I’m sure Duke Ellington paved the way for jazz music. However, this “album” is half of them speaking and the other half is live performances where I can’t hear any other instruments other than this🎺 If it was 1950 and I had some ❄️ with a broad on my shoulder drinking an old fashioned, this would be a 10/10. Instead it’s a 2/10 especially for it staring with the star spangled banner.

Ice Cube
5/5
Definitely an album that deserves a second listen to really appreciate what Ice Cube is cookin up. His political statement on police brutality and its effect on the black community is prominent throughout. His instrumentals are simple but effective, creating a flow very similar to Geto Boys. Ice Cube shines being an in your face rapper, making sure he’s heard through the whole album. Song wise, every song is a banger. It was a good day is simply the top song on the album, with it being the only chill song to boot. Overall, 9/10 album and will definitely listen again when I get pulled over by the police.
