Are You Experienced
Jimi Hendrix
purple haze - wow!!!! very very cool instrumentation and texture. think its about drugs or being in love with a cool girl or both tbf idk u jimi you do you!!!
manic depression - hooly shit such a cool intro these drums are mega epic. i am beginning to understand why mr hendy is so famous. i am making guitar player faces at the solo in the middle of the song very very good
hey joe - ok we mellowin it down i see uuuu oh okay nevermind its about homicide. ok pretty fire, but tbh it surprises me this one is so popular i think manic depression is better
love or confusion - wait holy poop why are the lyrics kinda real hendy ur me fr. beat switch up goes hard
may this be love - fuckin wit it! again cant tell if this is about drugs or a woman but its cute if its the latter. ok this is funky now i like this!! cutesy lil instrumental section love to see it
i dont live today - absolutely wonderful intro WOW this is quite cool these drums are very sick i like how it goes double time for a sec its like edging me THIS IS THE LEAST LISTENED TO TRACK?!!! underrated af mr hendy omg it switches up ur lying this is so so so cool this might be my fav so far
the wind cries mary - very funky; i could not tell you the slightest idea what this could be about but its a sick tune i can imagine it being in the background of a coming of age movie where they get stoned for the first time
fire - accurate title. let me stand next to ur fire!!!!!!!!!!! idk what it is about this but it kinda feels like its taken influence from like 50s-60s shoowop kinda songs like the emphasis on certain beats and the bass line its very cool
third stone from the sun - love me some swing ITS ABOUT ALIENS FUCK YESSSSSS very very good guitar ..... i think these sound effects are supposed to emulate some kind of alien invasion wait this is so cool was this all done on a guitar. oh okay rip humanity fire way to go out ig
quite a haunting outro considering the meaning, i fw it
foxey lady - very funky monkey gets me hype i would listen getting ready for a party or something. this might be another favourite!!!
are you experienced? - title track ooooh... im ngl im so suprised this was recorded in 1967 its so ahead of its time. yep this ones definitely about drugs! tbh for the title track its not as good as the rest of the album im not fw this one as hard as all the previous
stone free - im headbopping,,,,,, i fw this one hardddd idk it just makes me feel happy plus a 10/10 solo love 2 see it
51st anniversary - very dancey like id goth dance to this;; i love how distinct the sound of each track is like theyre so cohesive you can tell so clearly they were written for the same project but theyre all really cool and unique. oh dear why is his voice so hot in this yes whatever you say mr hendy
highway chile - very like smooth,, again i can kinda feel a 50s influence like very og rock n roll vibe in the beat - i like it i would listen on a road trip but maybe im just saying that bc it has highway in the title
can you see me - pretty cool, a lil boring but thats chill
remember - i am getting major beatles or i daresay even elvis vibes right neow!! a lot more mellow and unique to anything on the album, i think this is really cute i would dance around my kitchen on sunday mornings with my future wife to this song
red house - very cool track to finish it all off, encapsulates the vibes of the entire album really perfectly
in conclusion, very very deserving of the hype hendrix sorry for doubting u king. my top 3 are, 🥉stone free, 🥈foxey lady, 🥇i don't live today

Rio
Duran Duran
um the first thing i thought when i listened to save a prayer was omg its the og sample from the gacha life song absolutely love this album!!!! duran durans sound is so distinct and its especially noticeable within rio especially. so many bangers in here! hungry like the wolf is one of if not my favourite song from the entire 80s. i know nothing about the bass world but i hope that the duran duran bassist is dutifully accredited bc he is the goat. i never noticed how much of a gothic influence they can have, lonely in your nightmares gave me the cure vibes. overall a 4, just because a lot of songs were quite similar to each other and got a bit repetitive. dancing in my room regardless!🥉rio🥈lonely in your nightmares🥇hungry like the wolf

The Genius Of Ray Charles
Ray Charles
i told my self i would be sparing with my fives, but this is already my second one.. i absolutely love this album, i think its more than deserving of it tho-- banger after banger after banger!!! i love playing this era of jazz/ big band stuff but ive never quite gone out of my way to listen to it/ never knew where to look for it. the answer is here!! and im so glad i found it. i genuinely believe that this is a perfect album. every single note! chord! tone! are so thoughtfully written/ played and i find it so incredible and genius how it slowly moves from big band ballady pieces to mellow orchestral stuff. ive been recording all the songs i think are real 10/10s to save them for some kind of big function one day. wedding? who knows. i can't even pick a top 3 this time, they're all insane. 🥉come rain or shine, when your love has gone🥈'deed i do🥇let the good times roll

Jazz Samba
Stan Getz
phenomenal musicianship all the way through. the type of music you'd drink cocktails to or sit outside with on a warm summer night, having one of those reminiscent conversations sitting in plastic chairs. though it's nice, i'm not one for casual jazz/ samba (giggle) listening and wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this. i'd enjoy it if i heard in a restaurant or something though. that being said, some real interesting bossa in here. the tone of the sax makes me feel happy!!!🥉e luxo so🥈desafinado🥇samba dees days

Yes
in all honesty i did not like this at all. thought it was shit tbh. it kinda goes to show that just because you're a great player with super advanced technique, it doesn't automatically make a good song. i was surprised when i heard the first song, still don't remember where i've heard it, but the bassline is phenomenal all the same. same with that one song about halfway through, incredible guitar technique but would i listen to it again, probably not. really out of place interludes that made the album feel really disjointed and confusing. i'm sure this is someone's cup of tea! just not mine...

Killing Joke
Killing Joke
makes me feel like a punk and/ or goth alternative teen in an 80s movie, depending on which track you listen to. finally starting to get some cool variety in this challenge!! in all honesty, i thoroughly enjoyed this-- an energetic sound that's got some edge to it; i can appreciate that! it just got old pretty quickly as the tracks kinda start to sound too similar/ get repetitive. in terms of musicality, it's pretty simple and nothing (playing-wise) reeeally stood out to me that much, which is why i'm rating it as low as i am.

immediately hooked with the intro of the first track. really interesting, unique sound, i haven't heard anything similar to it before. This second song is really popular but i don't think i've heard it before. very very 2009 it reminds me of that one app with all the cartoon men that make different noises that make beats ykwim. it actually sounds identical wait this may be the same guy/s. outro of fine for now was insanely good im gonna bust a nut and/ or ascend to heaven. the entire vibe of the album makes me really uncomfortable in a comforting kind of way. like a grandfather of jack stauber's pop food, ya dig? overall, a really cool listening experience. i do feel like it's one of those albums you just have to listen to chronologically, cuz some tracks are pretty weak standalone. i would give it a 4 if not for this. probably would listen again. good for studying. absolutely gorgeous closing track.

an interesting listening experience. very smooth. i thought the instrumentation was good. My favs were Miss Chatelaine and Constant Craving, which i now realise are the most popular tracks. I'm not super into this vibe as it reminds me too much of my church days lol but there are a couple tracks i'd listen to again.
