1001 Albums Summary

Good guitar work however I've just never been a fan of the vocals from Van Halen or majority of their hair metal contemporaries. Probably the most annoying genre of seppo music.

The best MJ album. Still a couple misses (fuck Paul McCartney) albeit a great reminder of his influence on pop as a whole and a joy to relisten to. All time multifaceted king of molestation and pop music.

Torturous for the most part. A 20 minute song that is just incoherant musical autofellatio. Felt like I was breaking free from my chains when it ended only to be greeted by an equally shit second side. Maybe I just don't get it but at this point I don't want to.

Admittedly I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy country music HOWEVER Emmylou has an amazing voice and I certainly found myself enjoying a fair bit of this album. Loved the choice of opening song with its upbeat instrumentals and Bottle Let Me Down was also a personal favourite. I am keen to hear more from her. Minus point for B**tles shit.

I do enjoy politically charged music and I understood some of the cultural impact of Public Enemy prior to listening to this album but this was my first proper delve. The influence is apparent and many artists I enjoy use the same aggression and chaotic mixing as well as over the top sample layering that is so prevalent in this album and was easily my favourite part about it. The messages still hold up however I can't help but feel like Chuck D's vocals are a bit dated and sound all too much the same on majority of the tracks which is what will stop me from revisiting their music all that often.
