1001 Albums Summary

This is definitely not the type of music I enjoy. It’s overly repetitive without any real lyrics or melody. So far the one redeeming quality I’ve heard is some interesting beats but they go on so long that it feels like a hammer on my eardrums. I suppose it’s in this list because of how they blended techno and harder rock riffs.

Stunning debut album. Fiona Apple has a voice that lulls you into a cozy comfort like you know her then all of the sudden she will sing some of the most biting words you’ve ever heard string together. Hearing this and knowing where she goes from here was very interesting. If I have any criticism, it would be that the album is a bit front loaded with all the catchiest songs.

The cultural and musical significance of this album can’t be overstated. Bring rock and hip hop together was groundbreaking, although I don’t think many more good songs came out of the combo hahaha. They were early innovators and for that I respect the album but it’s not something I would come back to listen to.
