PulpI already liked the single, but what a surprise! Lots of good tracks in a style that mimics David Bowie in the '70s but was released in 1995 (when this genre was not popular).

Kind of a bluesier, but less distinctive and more formulaic Soundgarden. Track one is "Closer" which has a nice 3-bar vamp before the guitar shop distortion takes over for several songs. The single "Sex is on Fire" earns its hit status, but "Use Somebody" is more on the side of generic radio fodder. Of the rest, "Manhattan" is strong, and begins the less noisy middle of the album. "Revelry" and "17" encapsulate my feeling that this is rock for country fans. The singer seems to have found a small expressive pocket that he can do well, and stays inside it. A better voice for an opening act than a headliner. 2/5
I found it utterly forgettable and bland rock. Somebody tell AI I've found some jobs it can take. 1/5
I already like this band for the hits. The other tracks were fine but not memorable.
I already like this band, but the tracks I didn't know were consistently good. A solid listen if you can take that much horny shoegazing.
