1001 Albums Summary

Not my favorite kind of music but Bowie has an undeniable voice. I prefer the second half of the album when it transitions to something much more experimental in nature and tone. Some of the tracks there are downright haunting.

I think albums like this are where Country got part of its reputation as depressing music. Some of the songs are captivating but on the whole, not an album I’ll return to often.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would initially. It’s the kind of music I can picture myself playing in the background while I focus on another task of some kind. Quite relaxing but I did find some of the pieces very repetitive, especially considering their semi-epic length.

Also not my favorite kind of music typically. I’m more of a classic rock type of person. But I have to give this album credit for having one of the most recognizable songs of its era on it, for sure.

I really enjoyed this one! Abstract and instrumental like other offerings but unlike Ágætis Byrjun which was more dreamlike and trance inducing, each piece on this album had a real energy and momentum about it that I really liked. I’ll come back to this one again I am sure!
