1001 Albums Summary

This grunge album is so interesting, with some really great sounds, progressions, lyrics, and i imagine messaging - grunge is angst, revolt. Always gives way to great messaging. This being said, grunge is not my thing. The sound is sooo industrial, so underground - not that thats a bad thing. This shit would go so off live in one of those brick basements. Its just not something that my ears would search out to listen to. I love satisfying resolutions, intricate and detailed progression, etc. Still, this sound has some incredible moments, especially the solo's, the riffs. They stand out between the noise of lyrics.

First half was quite a compelling narrative, if not my type of sound, it still carried the emotion i look for in music. Second half (the b-sides) were fine.
