Another remarkable album from The Beach Boys; the lyrical content is a lot darker than usual so it's a nice change of pace and they always delivery musically. Brian Wilson is stellar. Upon first listen there were songs that didn't really click with me but after a few more spins (and it kept me coming back for more) the vision became clearer. 5/5, this is an underrated classic in my book.
Really well done ska; I can see this potentially being a huge influence on certain bands and genres after the fact. I heard Rudy before and liked it but the entire album is very solid and well written. Probably not something I'd return to in my personal time vibe wise. 3.5/5
This album is pretty solid man. I feel like it hasn't aged the best; sampling is just so far ahead these days so that's not entirely this album's fault. The bigger songs like Natural Blues, South Side, Porcelain, and Bodyrock are all great iconic songs. Probably not something I'd go back to personally besides Natural Blues but there is fun to be had on this album. 3/5
Classic jazz album. Nuff said. 5/5. Works for any occasion in my opinion.
When it's good it's iconic with songs like Clocks and the Scientist but when it's not it kind of just floats around in a boring and unassuming way. That said, I don't hate any of it and I can hear the groundwork being laid for some of their work following this that I enjoy quite a bit. 3/5
There are a few songs on here that I can tolerate, and I actually don't mind country, but this type of country instrumentally on the core of the record just drives me insane. Vocally they don't even really sound like a country band; in some ways this makes it better, some ways worse. Songwriting is solid enough and why I can at least give it a 2.5; I can see someone else liking this more but this just isn't for me.
Classic grunge metal album. I already own it on vinyl and only buy albums I truly love. 5/5
