Who's Next by The Who

What is there to say? You've heard every song on this album even though you probably don't recognize the song sames. This isn't one of the 1001 greatest albums, it's one of the top 10.

Rattus Norvegicus by The Stranglers
Jul 21 2025

It wasn't bad. For an album that came out in the mid-to-late 70's it has a very 60's vibe but, at that point, in America we were mining disco for all it was worth. The Stranglers are like a mix of mid-60's organ-heavy pop and punk. Very unique.

Obviously, Otis Redding is one of the greatest. This is a really good album to get to know his style which is phenomenal and so many of the songs were hits before he covered them on this album. The standout is "Change Gonna Come" for me. Covering songs back in this time period was done all the time and singers/performers who had their own style would make the song their own and Otis does just that. Really great album.

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes

Not really my bag. I can appreciate some of the psychedelic music from back in the 60's and all, but not when it is being sung in Portuguese.

Not really my bag. I don't mind the music but it never really goes anywhere. It might be nice to maybe relax to but where the song starts it also ends and rarely seems to deviate so it's kind of boring to me.

All Directions by The Temptations
Aug 05 2025

I'm not really familiar with The Temptations full catalog but I kind of feel like this was one of the first album where they delved into more an activist's tone. Solid album, but I kind feel like they should have leaned more into it instead of having several of the slower songs they mixed in.

Machine Head by Deep Purple

One of my favorites.
