It's a nice background listen, but forgettable. 2.5 for me.

I was expecting this album to be more raw and unpolished since it was released in 1983, but it sounded like the U2 I am familiar with. It's all there already. Edge, the strong heavy rhythm section and Bono were playing music like no one else in the early 1980's. I can see why this album is on the list. It's way ahead of its time, it's vastly different then anything else being released then, and this kind of sets up U2 for the rest of their career. Original album from an original band. 4/5

I have no idea why I've never listened to this album before, but it was incredible. I've listened to it multiple days in a row. This is a true 5 star perfect album.

One of my favorite albums. Ahead of its time and still influencing music today.
