I like paul’s voice but he sounded different than how I remember & very Elvis who I’m not the world’s biggest fan of (but I can appreciate how beautiful and poetic his music was). Stunning album. Ella’s voice is so beautiful and smooth. I feel so comforted listening to her music. Solid 7.5/10. It was originally almost a 9 but the major drawback is most of her songs are singing about men and longing for them. Obviously she is allowed to sing about men but because it was released in 1959 it feels like that’s all she was allowed to sing about. If not the patriarchal brainwashing certainly got to her poor thing. If she just wanted to sing about men that’s okay too but just not my jam.
