1001 Albums Summary

This is the first album I was assigned and I'm a little disappointed. Hard rock and metal are not my favorite genres to begin with. The songs are very similar. I cannot understand what they are saying. I had to read the lyrics as I listened. All the songs being live is an interesting idea but it gets old quickly. It is energetic and bold but in a way that became so overstimulating it circled back around to being background noise.

I liked "The Big Country" but besides that it was a slog to get through. As soon as I think I'm enjoying the song it becomes funk/jazzy and gets significantly worse.
